Welcome to our school

Welcome to Braeview Academy, Dundee. Whether you are visiting for the first time or are a regular visitor, I hope you find this website useful and informative and that it provides a flavour of the achievements, opportunities and experiences we offer our pupils.

Our school is located in the North East of Dundee and serves the wider communities of Whitfield, Fintry and Mill O’ Mains. Our associated primary schools are Ballumbie, Fintry, Longhaugh and Mill O’ Mains.

At Braeview, we take great pride in the successes and achievements of our pupils, their desire to continue to develop new skills, to benefit from the educational experiences on offer and to reach out beyond the school to help others.

We value greatly the high quality of pastoral care given to our pupils. Promoting health and wellbeing and positive working relationships is at the centre of everything we do.

We value the wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities offered by the staff in the school and the range of employability-based experiences offered by our partners.

The success of our school is built on the partnership of pupils, parents and carers, staff and the wider community.  With your help, we know that we are well placed to support our pupils to realise their potential, nurture ambition and move on to a positive destination on leaving school.

The vision for our school community is that we will work together to achieve the highest results; be the best we can be; narrow the gap; and to make a difference.

Our wider aims are to provide a happy and safe environment in which all pupils can learn to the best of their abilities; to encourage and support pupils to participate in the life of the school and community; and to prepare pupils for life after school.

We value respect for all, tolerance, ambition, and inclusion. We work continuously with our pupils, parents, families, and partners in an effort to get it right for every child.

If you require further information, about the school or about your child or their progress, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Here at Braeview Academy, our door is always open.

I hope that our website gives you an insight into our school. For up-to-date information, please follow us on Twitter @BraeviewAcademy and soon you will be able to download our school app, further information to follow shortly.

Michelin Partnership

Braeview Academy is partnered with the Michelin factory in Dundee. This fantastic initiative allows pupils from across the school to learn skills beyond the classroom. S1 and S2 pupils can engage with a paired reading and paired numbers programme. Pupil mentoring is available to pupils in S3 onwards. Our senior pupils benefit from a range of work experience and work placement options.
