Welcome to our school

Photograph of Mrs Little (Head Teacher(I am delighted to welcome you to Braeview Academy’s website.  Whether you are visiting for the first time or are a regular visitor, I hope you find this website useful and informative and that it provides a flavour of the achievements, opportunities and experiences we offer our pupils.

We are extremely proud of our pupils, their successes and achievements and their desire to continue to develop new skills and experiences and to help others. We value greatly the high levels of Pastoral Care given to our pupils as well as the wide range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities offered by the staff in the school and through excellent partnership working.

We value and nurture respect for all, tolerance, ambition, and inclusion. We work continuously with our pupils, parents and partners in an effort to get it right for every child.

Our school vision is that we will work together to achieve the highest results; be the best we can be; narrow the gap; and to make a difference.

Our broad aims in Braeview Academy are to provide a happy and safe environment in which all pupils can learn to the best of their abilities; to encourage and support pupils to participate in the life of the school and community; and to prepare pupils for life after school.

The success of our school is built on the partnership of pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.  With your help, we know that we are well-placed to support our pupils in realising their potential, nurture ambition and move on to a positive destination on leaving school.

Our door is open. Please do not hesitate to contact us about any aspect of the website or your child’s progress in school.

Michelin Partnership

Braeview Academy is partnered with the Michelin factory in Dundee. This fantastic initiative allows pupils from across the school to learn skills beyond the classroom. S1 and S2 pupils can engage with a paired reading and paired numbers programme. Pupil mentoring is available to pupils in S3 onwards. Our senior pupils benefit from a range of work experience and work placement options.
